For Julia's
Read on for...
Hey
all... I'm Julia, a piercer here at EBM . As a teen I only had ear lobe piercings and it wasn't until my mid 20's that I got my first "body" piercing (my tongue). I was hooked instantly. Years later, after meeting Sandra in 2006 and getting a few piercings and tattoos from her, my interest in Body Mod grew. Through curiosity, lots of questions and some job shadowing, the decision was made to start my apprenticeship in June 2007. With Sandra's love of the art of Body Modification and her strict adherence to cleanliness and sterilization, the decision to become a piercer was easy to make. And as the years have gone by, I can honestly say that I can not see myself doing anything else. You'll be seeing me around for many more years to come! There's much more to body modification then one would think. And I totally believe a person should have a proper apprenticeship before attempting the fine art of piercing. In my opinion, a few weeks or even a few months just isn't enough time to be properly trained. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning about Body Mod and am continually refining my skills. Theres more to a piercing then just having a piece of jewelry in your flesh... theres proper placement to consider... proper gauge, length and/or diameter of jewelry for a particular piercing... and not everyone can get every piercing. We do not charge extra for the jewelry, it is included in our price and with some piercings there is a choice between a few different pieces. We will not put just any piece of jewelry in you... we not only want it to be great quality... but look nice as well. We will only use our jewelry that has been autoclaved. Because of the risk of cross-contamination and the possibility of infection, we WILL NOT use jewelry that you've brought in. We will however help you change your jewelry the first time for free, (whether you purchase it from us or elsewhere) after a certain amount of healing time has passed. All our needles are single use... even on the same person and get disposed of in a sharps container. We're very diligent about our cleanliness and sterilization process and pride ourselves in how clean our piercing room is. Please don't hesitate to email me or Sandra with any piercing questions or just come down to the shop. Pushing
